Meet Q Rodgey

I’m Michelle Rodges, owner of Q Rodgey Solutions. For those with inquiring minds about the origin of my business name, it is the nickname given to me by a former student – Queen Rodgey. I took the liberty of shortening it to Q Rodgey to make it more distinct – just like the service I provide.

I spent 29 years as a public-school educator and dance/drill team director prior to my retirement in May 2022. During those years, I acquired multiple skills that lend themselves seamlessly to being a successful virtual assistant. I am organized, creative, flexible, a problem solver, detail-oriented, efficient, and a lifelong learner. I have had training on all things Google, Microsoft 365, calendar management, Jotform, and Canva. I am not afraid to learn new things and tackle challenges and projects that come my way.

I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science, with a focus on Dance and Health from Southwest Texas State University, now known as Texas State University. I later went on to earn my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University with Principal Certification.

Upon retiring, I was not sure what I wanted to do or where my next journey would take me. I had dedicated most of my life to assisting and teaching others all the while running a successful dance team, so I knew I had to find something to fill my days. It was not until a dear friend suggested to me about becoming a virtual assistant. She believed it would be right up my alley with all my various experiences and training throughout my educational career. With the love and support of my family and friends, I have become a first-time entrepreneur.

Now as a business owner and virtual assistant, I help small business owners with the administrative pieces of their business. I love that it gives me the opportunity to help others while doing the things that I love to do, and it allows my clients to spend more time focusing on what they love most about their work. It helps them to be more efficient and less stressed.

I live in North Texas with my husband, Jeff, and love having my daughter, Samantha, our grand-dog, Bo, and our son, Houston, close enough that we can visit often. Working from home gives me the flexibility to enjoy lunch dates with family and friends and stay active in my retirement organization, where I currently serve as president of Wylie RSE. In my free time, you will usually find me soaking up family game nights, getting outside for a walk, or traveling with my hubby.
